I can’t believe that in an hour an 10 minutes my little girl will officially be 2 years old. Or 2 minutes as she calls it. Which is what it feels like! She is so funny. She just said ” what’s that noise?”. Her newest favorite saying. We just got out of the pool at 10 pm. Good times!!!
More chatting…
Aubree will say “come play me mommy” (come play with me mommy) and “come lay me mommy” (come lay with me mommy). She also says “OOOHH I need that” when she sees anything I’m looking at on the computer that even resembles a toy. She just said “I take my shirt off” and pulled it over her head and said “I got it” She’s doing SO well using the potty. Got out of bed two times the other night to go, then went again first thing in the morning. She’s been wearing her new “panty tops” so she doesnt pee. I took her to Walmart and let her pick out her own and she got Cinderella and the princess kind. She’s just recently started liking the Toy Story movie, especially the baby in it. She’s trying really hard right now to dress herself too. She absolutely cracks me up with the things she comes up with. Like panty tops…….weird word for panties.
We spent last weekend at Gatlinburg again. Did two nights this time. Still felt exhausted when we got home! That’s alot to pack in a weekend. Scott and his dad rode the motorcycles down, so me and the girls drove. Not a bad drive at all, an hour and a half maybe. The worse part is the traffic, without all that it wouldn’t take long at all. So we met Scott at Splash Country. It was SO hot and packed that we only did one big slide, and let Aubree slide a few times then left. Our hotel in Gatlinburg had a water slide and really nice kiddie area and was heated so Aubree enjoyed it more. Mamaw and Papaw watched the girls friday night and Scott and I finally got to go to the famous Hogs N Honeys. It was cool, a little to wild a crowd for me. Saturday we went to Dollywood and rode all day long. Both girls had fun. That night we went to No Way Jose’s to eat and then to Putt Putt, which Aubree kept calling “hut hut” She was doing decent with scott helping her, then she decided to throw her ball, and it landed in an area that couldn’t be touched. She was more amused with the course anyways. It was Davy Crocketts fort and it was really cool with all kinds of talking animals and stuff. Our hotel balcony actually overlooked it, and first thing sunday morning, Aubree said, “get my ball, I throw it” She really enjoyed riding all the rides in Dollywood, she always does. It was really hot, around 94 I think. Dollywood is in the mountains so it’s nice and shady through out most of the park. Sunday morning we were woke up by a really loud storm. It passed thankfully for a bit. We drove to Pigeon Forge to eat at Mr Gattis for fathers day lunch and while in there it hit again. It cleared enough for Scott and Steve to ride some, but they had to stop in Newport for rain, then rode it in for a while. He made it home about 45 minuted or so after us, and was soaked. It was a good trip, but I think we may do the park for the day then drive home from now on. I like being home, we can’t get much sleep there and it’s much nicer not having to pack and check out. I’ll probably take the girls on a week day soon. Avoid the crowds……I think today we’re going to head to Toys R Us to shop for Aubree’s second birthday coming up on saturday! We aren’t going to do a big party this year. Just family, which will still be plenty. She was just overwhelmed last year and got way to many presents. She would be excited with just one person visiting. Our friends are bringing their 4 year old and they play good so that will be nice. Then my niece and nephew she adores. I hope we either sleep in alot or get the nap in before 2…….. She’s been sleeping until 11ish and we’ve been skipping the nap. Bailey is really enjoying being out of school. She was pooped this weekend. She didn’t take a friend this time so she spent more time with us. I really enjoyed that. Shes grown up so fast. I’m sure it’s hard being 11 with a 2 year old sissy that gets all the attention.
One of Aubrees newest sayings foe the last few days, “member this???”. She also started saying “I trying mommy” a while back too. I really wish I were better at keeping up with all of this. But hell, for her sister, I didn’t even have this……
Driving down the road…
Aubree: Hear me fart mommy?
Mom: no, hahahahahaha, what did you do??
Aubree: I fart mommy, you hear it?
Mommy: no i didn’t….
Aubre: I poop to mommy
Mommy: I figured you would
This mornings first conversation
Aubree: Hello daddy
Daddy: Hello Aubree
Aubree: I drink this milk daddy?
Daddy: I dont know, I think it’s from last night
Aubree: Is this milk yucky mommy?
Mommy: (mumbling in sleep) no, it should be fine
Aubree: I can drink this milk daddy
It was SO much cuter and sweeter this morning in bed. It kills me that I can’t put her sweetness in words. We video her all the time but still. She says and does things that tug my heart all day long. The things she says, the expressions she makes. Right now, she is counting, “1,2 8, 9, 10″ We were playing with her fish game, where they go round and round and you are supposed to catch them with a pole. I laid down to play since it was more comfy, and she spent the next 5 minutes trying SO hard to get in the same exact position, and is still trying it now. She is really into copying me so much. She repeats about everything I say, tries to do the same things, tries to wear my shoes. She is all the time going in her sissys room and getting her bras and panties out and being very creative in putting them on. On her head, puts the panties on, gets the bra on her “boobies”. We went to Dollywood and Splash Country in Gatlinburg for the weekend and she had such a time! It took her a little bit to warm up to the water park. I think it was just so much commotion and water. It was packed and kids running and creaming everywhere, with water shooting from everywhere. Her and daddy rode the waterslide a few times and she liked it. We took a lunch break and the kid ate more than me.! After that she was ready to go and LOVED the slide and was getting brave in the water. There are tons of big slides so Bailey and her friend Megan wondered around and had their fun. WHen it was 5 o’clock and time to go, we put Aubree in her jogging stroller and walked around to find Bailey and Megan, poor Aubree had enough, she fell asleep. She woke up when I got her in the van and changed and in her carseat and stayed up the rest of the time. We went to the hotel and got ready and walked around downtown Gatlinburg. She went to bed about 11 and slept good. Sunday, we went to Dollywood to ride rides all day. She rode the antique cars first, they go about a mile around the park and you get to “drive”. She loved t and was waving at everyone. Her and daddy rode them again. After that Bailey and Megan split to hit the roller coasters and we went to the kiddy park area. There were tons of things for her to ride. We rode the flying elephants, tea cups, flying bees, spinning ducks, and the carousel. She said, “Again, again” on everything but was really well behaved when it was time to get off and get in line again. I’m SO glad we got season passes and can go back as much as we want. It’s about a 2 hour drive but well worth it. I’m hoping to take the girls some during the week and we’ll just drive home instead of staying the night. Bailey really loves both parks too and her friend Megan got a season pass to so can hopefully go with us alot. We are supposed to go back June 20 weekend for 2 nights. That will be cool since we’l have babysitters and daddy and I can get some date time. There is a place on the strip called Hogs and Honeys we’ve been wanting to go to. It’s an outside bar area that overlooks the cruising strip. I look more forward to the grandparents getting to watch her ride rides tho. I remember when Bailey was that age she loved rides and anything to do with water. She wasn’t as timid as Aubree, she went into everything running fast forward. It takes Aubree a little bit to warm up and realize things are safe. I don’t mind that.
Today was a typical monday morning. Its SO yucky after having a great weekend out of town. Saturdays and sundays are my sleep in days since daddy gets up with Aubree, when we are traveling, which is all the time now, I don’t get my extra couple of hours….. However, Aubree didn’t get up until 10am on sunday so that’s ok I suppose. Bailey has 4 more days of school, which realy stinks. They supposedly missed so many snow days they had to go an extra 8 days, yeah right. I thought so many snow days were built in to the year, like 10 or something. And Im sure they didn’t miss more than 10. So we have 4 more days, and being a monday, this morning when we got in the van to leave, the batery was dead! My new van no less……this all because some young lady and her friend sat in it last night and listened to music, and possibly forgot to turn a light off……..my first hint should have been when the automatic doors beeped this morning when we opened them…then they wouldn’t close. Luckily we have a portable battery booster that my dad got Scot for Christmas. Otherwise we would have been screwed cause in the driveway there would have been no place for another vehicle to pull down there to boost me the way I was parked. So, Bailey on her last monday of the school year was tardy….hopefully they won’t sneak a detention in there… The temperature is crazy hot too. I think it’s already 80 at 10am…yesterday it was 85. Not that I’m complaining, I’m ready for the hot. We opened the pool on monday and it’s looking pretty and clear after Scott has worked so hard on it. The temperature is up to 76. Which is still freezing to me! I’m hoping Aubree doesn’t want to spend to much time in it…..
Upon waking…
This morning when Aubree woke up, her first sentence of the day was, “My granny buy me these pajamas,” her second, “Aubree ready for cokie now” It seems every morning it’s something different. We were in Gatlinburg this past weekend with her granny, papaw and cousin Kayla, and she woke up, opened her eyes, and said, “granny, papaw, sissy, kayla” Most mornings it’s very random thoughts. Some, she’ll say, “we take sissy to school now.” She always wakes up so happy and easily. I’m not sure where that came from, none of the rest of us do. She is still sleeping with Scott and I. Which is what we prefer. Still nursing too….not sure how you end that???? I told myself 2 was the limit but how in the world do you get them to quit?!?!! I can’t believe she will be 2 in 26 days!!!
Word of the day
I wish that I had kept track of Aubrees new words daily. I’m going to really try to keep better track of them now tho. Anyway her new word today was…”damnlicious”. She was eating when she created this one….
Talking
Aubree has been talking in three and four (sometimes even more) word sentences for weeks now. It still amazes me that we can actually have good conversations with someone who isn’t even two. And she remembers EVERYTHING! She knows what she loves to eat, and when e are eating out she orders. She will tell the hostess she wants “a chair seat,no highchair” then soon as the waitress appears she will order “I want hamburger, nugget, French fries with ketchup and cokie”. Then when you give her a bite or drink, or anything for that matter, she always says thank you. Even if you put on her clothes or shoes. Tonight she told me “I take a bath and wash hair good”. Then later said “I wash hands goodandbrush teeth”. She’s just an awesome communicator!!
